thanksgiving was amazing. lots of love and good food and good cheer all around. i actually managed to forget about the pressures of, well, everything, for a while. now they are back and none the worse for wear, but i am glad that i had those few days. and i am glad for b and n. oh yes i am.

novella
turned in the novella today. it clocked in at 71 pages, which is a bit past the 50 page requirement. usually, we shrink things down to a size ten font and one and a half spacing, to save paper and to make it seem a less formidable task to read three of the things a week. since most of the novellas so far reach about thirty pages or less in the reduced format, i have a feeling my 45 reduced format monster is going to induce a little hand wringing in the rest of the class. such is life.

the tyranny of turkey day
the university has managed to maneuver things with the holiday so well that my schedule does not change at all. I don't even drop a single class from my schedule, whether one that I teach or one that I take. this makes me very sad.

fenton strikes again
here it is. Part 3 of the ongoing saga of the two photos. the most magnificent part of this segment is that they COUNTED the cannonballs. every single one of them. then they marked them with red dots, so we could all see just how many there are. the only sad part is that since they finally resolved the debate about which photo was taken first, there will be no part 4. now what will i do with my life?

stuck at 40 pages
ideas, anyone?
churned out 40 mediocre pages and have ten to go and no idea how to end it.
and am sure that ten will not be sufficient for the storyline to make any sort of sense at all.
novellas. even short ones.
why?
the deadline looms.
