and out. as in, the semester is finished. finito. tapus na. dead and gone.
i've logged those final grades and committed them to my student's records for all time.
and now for some rest (and revision) over the break.

A letter from Bellow. Though I have my reservations about how well some of his work has aged, you have to give it to him--the man can write a mean letter. My favorite here is "We need money on account of our vices."
In case this appears to be just so much dithering about nothing at all, let me reassure you--it is.
And, in the further case that the tiny print is too small for you to read, continue on for the smashing full text.
Oh, hooey--just read it for yourself here. The old cut and paste is too much work.

The guy in this video, Loïc Jean-Albert, seems to know something about writing. Or at least, he knows something about jumping out of a plane without a parachute. Here he is, on trying to land safely without a parachute (i.e. using a wingsuit only): “You might do it well one time and try another time and crash and die.” That sounds about right, in my experience.
